I was the grateful recipient of a random act of kindness this week.
I was caught short at the chemist and had only $6.55 all up in my purse and the item I needed was $7.95.
I told the shop assistant I would come back later once I got the extra money, but a man next to me said: ``Don't worry, I'll give it to you - I've got a heap of coins in my pocket.'' He reached into his pocket and then put a collection of gold and silver coins on the counter.
``No, no - I'll come back later. I can't let you do that,'' I protested.
``Not a worry at all - I know what it's like when you're a bit short. I'm happy to do it.''
I smiled and thanked him for his $1.40 and his kindness.
I've never had that happen to me before - although I have done the same for others on a few occasions.
What goes around, comes around.

What a lovely story....makes you believe in human kindness
I have done it. The smile on people's faces is more than enough payment.
What a nice thing to happen to you, and I have also done that for a lady buying her lunch one day. I gave her some money as she was short and she was so pleased BUT I felt wonderful...
