Tomorrow my local art gallery has an exhibition opening that I can't wait to see: Max Dupain on Assignment.
It is a touring exhibition from the National Archives of Australia which features man Dupain photographs which have not been seen before. Here is one of the photographs in the exhibition which may be familiar: Violinist (1971) Silver Gelatin Print, National Archives of Australia.
I've enjoyed his work ever since a photographer friend of mine introduced me to his amazing images.
Now I can see some without leaving home. Who says country and regional Australia is a cultural desert?

Never ever did. Some of the best shows, plays, touring arts and the like I've ever seen have been in regional areas. And it's interactive. The best "cultural scene" I ever belonged to was out west.
Thinking of you. (Moving to a Parra job at the end of month - deputy online editor, woot).
